How Ellum uses AI

Effective October 7, 2026

Ellum's pages are written by AI and checked by automated tests. No person edits each page before it publishes, and no physician has reviewed any page yet. This page explains what that means.

What AI does

  • Plans and drafts pages. For each page, an AI model works from a pack of stored sources: FDA records, labels, trial registrations and papers. It outlines the page, drafts it, and adds links between pages.
  • Labels study designs. A smaller model labels each paper's design (for example, randomized trial or animal study), which feeds the evidence grade.
  • Checks every page it drafts. Code checks every page against our content rules: for example, no claim that an unapproved compound treats a disease, and no dosing instructions for one. A different AI model from the one that drafted the page runs a medical-accuracy check, which compares every factual sentence with the source it cites. Neither is a lawyer's review.
  • Updates pages when a regulatory record changes or a major new study appears.

We use Claude models from Anthropic.

What AI never does

  • It never picks a dose. The model that drafts a page doesn't write dose numbers: they are copied from a stored record of the cited FDA label or study and checked by code. A separate AI step, or a person, fills that record from the source's stored text, and the database refuses a record that doesn't cite a stored source. Ellum never gives personal or recommended doses.
  • It never diagnoses or tells anyone what to take.
  • It never signs off a page as medically reviewed. A reviewer's name can only appear on a page with a real, signed review from a real physician, and none exists yet.
  • It never invents people. Pages are credited to Ellum Editorial. There are no AI-generated authors, photos or doctors.

What people do

A person at Ellum approves each page type's template and a sample batch before any of those pages publish. After that, pages publish when they pass every automated check. Pages that fail a check three times are held back and not published. Errors readers report are checked against the primary source and logged on the corrections log.

What this means for you

AI-drafted pages can contain mistakes the checks miss. Every claim links to its source where we have one on record, so you can check it, and every page shows when it was last updated. If you find an error, email hello@ellumclinic.com.

Nothing on Ellum is medical advice. Talk to a licensed clinician before you start, stop or change any treatment.

What doesn't use AI

  • Your information. Sign-up details are never sent to an AI model or used to train one.
  • Chat. Ellum has no AI chatbot.
  • Images and video. Ellum doesn't publish AI-generated images or video.

AI crawlers

Ellum allows every crawler, including search engines, AI search and citation bots (such as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot) and AI training bots (such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, CCBot, Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended). Our robots.txt allows all of them, and /llms.txt lists our main pages for AI tools. We want Ellum's research to be findable and quotable wherever people ask about peptides.

Talk to a doctor who knows peptides. Cash pay, no insurance needed. Ellum Clinic is opening state by state and isn't available yet.

We'll store your email, your state, the page you're on and the peptides selected below (pre-selected from this page; untick any). Together these can reveal health interests. We use them only for what you tick below and to count sign-ups by state and peptide, without emails, to plan where the clinic opens and for reports that show only totals. Our hosting, database and email providers handle them for us. We pass them to a doctor or clinic only if you tick that box, and we don't sell them. Ellum's sign-ups are for adults 18 and over.
